Our primary goal for the Tom Pryor Tournament Series Jig Rod was to build a very durable, very light weight, and very sensitive rod perfect for both verticle and swimming type presentations.  We also wanted a rod that didn't cost an arm and a leg.  We settled on a  split cork** rear grip and no foregrip design for lighter weight.  We also decided to use only REC Components RECOIL guides.  These guides are made from a special nickel titanium alloy that is extremely light weight, will not corrode in any environment, and will return to its original shape after repeated deformations.  We also like the fact that they have no ceramic insert that will fall out of the guide making the rod unusable.

We recommend Light Jig Rod for baits weighing less than 1/2 oz, Medium Jig Rod for baits weighing 1/2-3/4 oz, and Heavy Jig Rods for baits weighing more than 3/4 oz.

Once we built our Jig rod it was clear that a light, sensitive spinning rod was also required for worms, grubs, tubes, shaky heads, wacky rigs, soft plastic jerk baits, and Drop Shot rigs.

These rods offer a performance blend of lighgtweight E-Glass and high performance graphite fibers combined to produce a very durable bass rod.  Utilizing the combination of a fiberglass tip and graphite in the butt this rod gives reaction bait fishermen the subtle tip they require and the power they demand.  They also include the strong lightweight REC** guides and a split cork rear grip. These rod are also outstanding for topwater baits and hard jerkbaits.

Don't fish a tournament trail or just want to save some money?  The Tom Pryor Fisherman Series rod is designed using the same light weight, durable, and very sensitive blank we use in the Tournament Series rod along with the new Netcraft Flexilite guides to help reduce performance killing rod weight.  Netcraft Flexilite guides are made from tough stainless steel alloy and plated with hard chrome for maximum wear resistance.  The guides have no ceramic insert to fall out in the middle of a tournament making your favorite rod unusable.  Rear grip is made from comfortable long lasting EVA foam.

Owner Jerry Hansen has been involved in the fishing industry for over 18 years. He is a designer and manufacturer of some of the finest fishing lures in the West.

As a successful tournament angler he created, owned, and operated “Big Boy’s Baits” from 1990 to 2003.
